Installation
- Save the file to your computer or device.
- Unzip the contents.
- Log in to SmartGuide Designer and access the Connections tab.
- Click the Add button and select the Connection option:
- Check the XML file radio button under Connection type.
- Click the Next button.
- Enter the Connection name, e.g. Country list.
- Select the Grouping in which to place the connection.
- Under Upload, choose the file you extracted in step 2.
- Click the OK button.
Now that the connection has been created, you can use it to populate the values of library and Smartlet fields. To do so, first access the Value tab of a multi-value field (checkbox, radio button, drop-down list or list box), then:
- Double-click the New value option to place it in the Selected values column.
- Double-click the undefined option to edit the value.
- Click the Values from XML file radio button.
- Select the Country XML file in the drop-down list that just appeared.
- Select country as the Label to display the country name.
- Select the node or attribute to use as the field value:
- Selecting country will result in a value of Canada for example.
- Selecting @code will result in a value of CA for example.
- Selecting @iso will result in a value of 124 for example.
- Click the OK button.
