Latest release takes another huge bite out of coding requirements to build accessible, interactive and responsive applications.

MONTREAL, QC, February 8, 2018 – Alphinat (TSXV: NPA) today announces the immediate availability of SmartGuide® 7, the newest version of its flagship low-code development platform, for both Java and .NET. This latest major release highlights the company’s continued commitment to delivering a low-code platform that democratizes the application development process.

“Our clients and partners asked and we listened”, said Philippe Lecoq, CEO of Alphinat. “They told us that the number of applications they need to build keeps increasing but they can’t just hire their way out of the backlog.”

“With that in mind, we built two new major features into SmartGuide 7 that further reduce the need to code”, continued Lecoq. “Not only does this help accelerate time-to-market, it also shortens the testing and maintenance phases. It also means that citizen developers are now able to build an even larger portion of applications than they could before.”

In addition to many smaller improvements, version 7 of SmartGuide includes the following major features:

Dynamic actions‒ Actions such as calling web services, updating other fields dynamically and executing JavaScript functions can now be invoked using SmartGuide Designer on practically every field and page event (e.g. when a page or field is rendered, when a value is changed, when a selection is made, etc.).
Custom properties‒ Metadata can now be specified for any field and be set through the Designer or dynamically using functions. These custom properties allow extending the field definitions offered out-of-the-box and can be used to add functionality such as input masks for example.

SmartGuide 7 is now available for download to clients with an active  maintenance contract. A free trial is also available to interested parties at http://www.alphinat.com/freetrial.

About Alphinat

At Alphinat, we are driven by the passion to make application development easy for everyone. It always struck us as odd that the people with the vision of how a finished application should look and behave would only be involved at the start of the process. After all, what better way to ensure a favourable outcome than to provide those closest to an application’s end-users with a vested interest in its success throughout its development?

That’s why we bring you new ways to empower the right people at the right time in the application development process. At the same time, we’re constantly working to reduce the need to code in order to make application development and maintenance simpler and less error-prone.

So whether you choose to develop your applications with the help of our low-code platform SmartGuide®, kickstart your project using one of our pre-built apps or engage us or one of our partners to do the work for you, we’re here to help you deploy better applications in record time. Visit http://www.alphinat.com for more information. We look forward to hearing from you.
